Dystopia Rising – Day 12 – Words

Daily blog: It’s January 18, the third Monday of the month; Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

In his 1963 speech, he said, “I have a dream that little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

And yet, here we are in 2021, and all races are being judged by that very thing.

It would seem racism is only wrong when it is pointed at you. And the media is all too happy to use it as a ratings booster.

There is no need for color description in most news stories.

I have a dream, as well. In it, everyone listens to MLK’s words. So that we can all live in a nation where people are not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I don’t know about you, but my family, friends, and co-workers don’t have a skin color tag when I refer to them, nor do I when they refer to me.
