An old man asked his young neighbor. “Would you mind if I opened your mailbox and read your mail?”
“What kind of question is that? Of course I would mind.”
“Would you mind if I peered through your window every once in awhile to see what you are doing?”
“Are you insane?”
“Would you mind if I listened in on your private conversations?”
“Would you mind if I followed you around to see where you go and what stores you buy from?
“Would you mind if I kept a copy of your finger prints?”
“That’s enough old man. You need to go back home.”
As the old man left he looked back at the young man and said. “If my questions upset you, I apologize. But for the life of me I can not figure out why you would be upset with your neighbor doing these things while at the same time allowing it to happen online by strangers, the government, your employer and so on.”
The young man stood silent as the old man disappeared through the hedge.
